A tourism visa is required for citizens of several countries, including Mexico, USA and Canadá. Please check here for a list of countries whose citizens do not need a visa to travel to Brazil. If you need a visa to travel to Brazil, please contact your travel agent and/or a local Brazilian Consulate/Embassy office for the details on how to apply for a visa. We remind that a reciprocation policy is normally applied, so getting a visa to travel to Brazil will be as simple as it is for a Brazilian to get a visa to visit your country.

ACOMMODATIONS IN JOÃO PESSOA

João Pessoa has a broad offer of hotels. A number of rooms with special rates have been blocked in the Tropical Tambaú Hotel and also in other hotels that are at walking distance from the conference venue. IMPORTANT: these rooms will only be blocked for the LADC2009 participants until July 15th! Please, book your room as soon as possible. GETTING TO JOÃO PESSOA

From Abroad

If the available direct flights to João Pessoa do not connect well with your international flight, you can fly to Recife, which is much better connected. See details bellow on how to get in João Pessoa from Recife.

Flying from Europe to Recife, the best way is probably to connect in Lisbon. TAP currently has one daily flight direct to Recife (TP0153), leaving from Lisbon at 16:00 and getting to Recife at 19:50 (there are also flights through Fortaleza, Natal and Salvador, if you can't get a seat on the direct flight). In the way back, the direct daily flight leaves Recife at 23:50 and gets to Lisbon at 11:20 (TP0152).

The other possibility for those in other regions and also from Europe but that do not want to fly via Portugal, is to fly to São Paulo. Most international airlines have straight flights to São Paulo. There are several daily flights from São Paulo to Recife, 10 of which are direct flights. TAM and GOL have each five direct flights from São Paulo to Recife daily. These direct flights take a bit less than 3 hours. There are also daily flights from São Paulo direct to João Pessoa on both TAM and GOL. From Brazil

There are eight daily direct flights to João Pessoa (3 from São Paulo, 2 from Recife, 2 from Salvador and 1 from Rio de Janeiro). João Pessoa is well connected to the major Brazilian cities, especially through flights coming from Recife.
